The Sydney Festival is here! A highlight of the city calendar The Sydney Festival is an opportunity to showcase the best we have to offer in arts. Eastside is making a big splash this year with theatre, music, visual arts and performance. Some highlights include the lineup at Belvoir St Theatre and the Art Gallery of NSW.

EVENTS - The best spots for last minute markets in Eastside.

  1. East Sydney Community Arts Centre - Bizarre Bazaar

A market cultivated from Sydney’s creative talent where local designers, artists and craftspeople sell their handmade work directly to the public. 2. Kings Cross Organic Market

Macleay Street, Kings Cross - Saturday & Sunday, 9 am to 2 pm Sat, 10 am to 3 pm Sun. The freshest in produce, ideal for impressing guests and pleasing the foodies in your life during the holidays.

3. Object Shop Christmas Design Market - Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Queens Square, Macquarie Street, Sydney

DC is partnering with Sydney Living Museums (SLM) for the second year to curate a Makers Lane, with 10 stalls as part of their Christmas Fare event at Hyde Park Barracks Sydney. It is an enchanting evening held at the historic site, with artisanal food, entertainment, 40+ market stalls and free complimentary entry. The ‘Makers Lane’ features Object Shop ceramicists Denise McDonald, Hayden Youlley, Jennifer Newton, Katherine Mahoney and The Fortynine Studio; designers benconservato, Eggpicnic and Outer Island; Jeweller Sophia Emmett and textile maker Love and West. EVENTS - Oxtravaganza is back!

Businesses along Oxford Street and surrounds are all coming together to do something a bit special in the middle week of Mardi Gras. On the 23rd of February Oxtravaganza is taking over the area so put it in the diary and make a day of it. Last year’s event was a smash success and we are hoping this time around will be even bigger and better.
